  2. Do some homework On our YouTube channel, you can find a lot of information that will prepare you for your first BJJ class. In one of the videos, we teach you a few important warm-up movements. And in another video, we answer the question: What is BJJ?

  3. Wear the right outfit If it’s a BJJ class, make sure to wear a gi, also known as a judo uniform. Don’t forget to tie a white belt around it!
If you don’t have a gi, it’s more convenient to attend a no-gi class. A pair of shorts without pockets and zippers, along with a tight-fitting t-shirt, will be sufficient.

  1. Let the coach know it’s your first class Upon arrival, make it clear that you’re attending a trial class. Most schools will already be aware, but it’s better to be safe than sorry. This way, they can take your lack of experience into account.

  2. Join the intro course! If you want to be really well-prepared before starting BJJ, consider joining our intro course. In 4 lessons, you’ll learn the basics of BJJ. Click here for more information.
